The modern design methods are a group of the technology and the knowledge community applied in research, improvement, creation product and craft. It takes satisfying the best quality, the best performance, the least time, the least cost and the most price synthesis benefit of the market produce as a goal ; It takes the computer design technology as the main body; It takes the knowledge as the backing and it takes many kinds of scientific method and the technology as the method, The modern design methods include: Optimized design, reliability, artificial neural network, finite element method, expert system, CAD technology, hypothesized design, parallel design, ERP management technology, fast reflection, green design and so on. It mainly studied the theory,the principle and the application of the modern design methods in the textile. The function and the limitation of modern design methods used for textile dying product design, production and management service are understood. It is important to grasp some typical methods, to learn study modern design idea, modern design means and instrument to solve the actual problem of project.The optimized design, the reliability and the neural network technology used for typical production link of textile is studied in this paper. The concept, the function as well as the characteristic of optimized design, reliability and the artificial neural network are elaborated emphatically; it constructs the topic 5 application cases based on these three methods. At the same time, it made preliminary exploration about applying research of other modern design methods in the textile. Using golden section method, experimentation is arranged on the basis of analyzing the principle of golden section method, the best recruitment of fragrant material in the fabric topical finish is determined successfully, and finally it obtains fabric with special fragrance; a chiller is designed following the three quadratic interpolations. It well solved the printing waste water which is cooled using again .The transportation optimized model of ERDS's production control is established by using linear programming technique, it determined the optimal solution with the formidable computation function of EXCEL and finally optimized the transportation cost; furthermore, in view of at present textile enterprise equipment cycle plan service only stresses on the plan, the overhaul period of complete set of equipment is theoretically determined on the foundation of understanding the concepts of reliability service and breakdown characteristic of complete set of equipment in entire lifetime but does not stress the equipment condition limitation; It also established a three-layer network system by BP neural network model based on the analysis of knitting cashmere yarn's character and spinning principle, cashmere yarn's fineness unevenness forecast can be achieved well.It promulgates the importance as well as the broad prospects for development of the modern design methods in the textile industry through the modern design methods in the textile applied research, it will lay a good foundation for further study in this field in the future.
