| The key of synthesizing silicone-acrylate latex is the preparation of silicone macromononer. The silicone macromonomer was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane (D4) using dodecyl benzene sulfonic acid as catalyst. The results show that the appropriate temperature is 80℃~85℃, the active center of catalyst is H+, the conversion is enhanced by increasing solid content, and the molecular weight is reduced by adding methacrylic acid 2-hydroxyethyl ester and shortening the reaction time. The silicone- acrylate polymer latex was prepared by polymerization of the silicone macromonomer and acrylate by continuous addition of monomers. The conversion is enhanced by increasing reaction temperature and initiator content, the stability is declined by increasing contents of functional monomer and D4, the grafting ratio and cross-linking ratio are enhanced by increasing contents of methyl methacrylate (MMA), initiator and D4, film water-resistance is enhanced by increasing temperature, the contents of MMA and D4, but declined by increasing contents of emulsifier, functional monomer and initiator. The dehydration process of latex film includes the slow period and the rapid period. The polymers were characterized by IR. |
