In the field of high temperature gas-solid separation, the cyclone separator is still the only available industrial application of gas-solid separation equipment because of its simple structure, low cost and easy maintenance. It faces an urgent requirement of improving efficiency and reducing pressure drop. The performance of a cyclone separator is greatly affected by its structure and dimension matching. The vortex is one of the most important factors determining separator performance. Through orthogonal tests, a more efficient vortex finder with its inlet being cut obliquely is found, and directions of eccentricity, offset distance, direction of incision, the style of incision were ranked by the degree of influence on the cyclone performance. Compared with the base model, the pressure drop of the cyclone separator with the improved vortex finder is reduced by 10% and the penetration by 15% at an inlet velocity of 20m/s, and it has higher grade efficiencies.
