With the improvement of people's awareness of energy saving,oil refineries need cyclone separators with lower pressure drop on the premise of ensuring efficiency.The slotted vortex finder plays an important role in reducing the energy consumption,but there are still different understandings about the effect of the insertion depth of slotted vortex finder on the performance of the separator.Based on the model of PV cyclone separator,this paper studies and analyzes the resistance-reducing vortex finder by combining numerical simulation with experiment.At the same time,a more simple structure of flat cyclone was developed with the aim of reducing resistance greatly.The numerical simulation results of slotted vortex finder's insertion depth show that: The influence of the vortex finder' depth on the pressure drop is related to the inlet diameter of the vortex pipe.For Insertion depth ratio de/D=0.33 and de /D=0.41,the pressure drop first increases and then decreases with the increase of the vortex finder insertion depth,and the performance curve is arched.For de/D=0.50 slotted vortex finder,increase with the vortex finder insertion depth.The experiment results show that the change trend of pressure drop is consistent with the numerical simulation results.The "arch" feature gradually disappears with the increase of the inlet diameter of the vortex finder,and the internal diameter of the critical inlet diameter of the slit vortex finder is 0.41?0.50 at present.The separation efficiency of slit vortex finder de108x5 mm is about 5 % higher than de159x5 mm.Both structures have the highest separation efficiency at S/a?1.3.At high gas speed,S/a?1.7 has a higher efficiency than ordinary vortex finder.Therefore,the optimal insertion depth S/a is about between 1.3and 1.7.It is reasonable that the slit area ratio of cyclone separator is between 0.6 andCompared with PV cyclone separator,the structure of flat cyclone separator has excellent performance.The experiment shows that with the increase of the inlet velocity,the drag reduction of the flat swirl structure is more obvious,the drag reduction amplitude is more than 25%.Tangential velocity and axial velocity decrease more obviously in the vortex finder,which is an important reason for the lower resistance of the flat swirl structure.Comparing the radial velocity distribution of the two structures,the distribution of the flat cyclone separator is more uniform,which is beneficial to the movement of particles in the gas flow.
