YAG crystals are widely used and important laser host materials. Because these rare earthdoped crystals widely used now are fabricated by the Czochralski (CZ) method which costmuch, complex technics, difficult to fabrication, sluggish growth, low dopant concentrationand difficult to growth large size single crystal doped equality. Recently high transparentceramic laser materials have received great attention since the quality of ceramic lasermaterials has been improved dramatically using nano-crystal technology and non-pressvacuum sintering method. The key to prepare highly transparent ceramics is to get goodquality powders which satisfy average particles, high purity, dispersed well. Another, goodquality nano-powders is the best raw material for crystal growth.Al(NO3)3 and Y(NO3)3 are used as starting material, acryl amide andN,N'-methylenediacrylamide are used as monomer and lattice reagent, This article uses thepolymer- network method prepares the YAG nano-sized powder, with XRD. TEM, andDTA-TG the method carries on the performance attribute, The results showed:Uses the polymer-network method may prepare particle size is smaller than the 50nmYAG nano-sized powder, moreover the powder average grain diameter is small, the dispenseris even, reunites few. In the experimental process, mono-men and lattice reagent allocatedproportion as well as the agglutinates temperature is more influence to particle size.We pressed YAG nano-powders into pills and sintered at 1650℃, and we got YAGceramic. TEM observation showed that the phenomena of exceptional grow up of particles andhole existed in ceramic material.
