H-Chopsaw is one model of the industry power tools. It is newest-designed, professional and high-voltage. Management teams in our company show their high expectation to future market for this product. But the scrap rate is very high at the beginning of mass production in SuZhou factory, the product quality is unstable. It is far exceeded the scrap rate goal which our company sets up. So the management decide to set up a team for scrap rate improvement to solve each problem which causes high scrap rate. Finally, find the major root cause------motor commutating spark big which causes high scrap rate through PQC finally check the product FIP and scrap rate breakdown. There are six factors which cause motor commutating park, three key factors (Commutating glabrous, Armature balance and Brush spring bounce) of them are confirmed through FMEA and positive-join experimentation data. Has brief elaborated to 6sigma quality management philosophy, FMEA, positive-join design and motor commutating theory before improving the problem. This makes preparation for problem solving process which will introduce in the following chapters.All the problem solving process follow DMAIC process of 6sigma with problem definition, problem management, problem analysis, problem improvement and problem control. Meanwhile, MINITAB of 6 Sigma is applied to analyze measurement data effectively and scientifically to reach the goad of scrap rate reduction and quality improvement finally.All the problem solving process follow 6 sigma DMAIC process.
