| We often face the polymer solution in the produce and study work. Modern theory of polymer physics benifits deeply from the researches of polymer solution. The introduce of the statistical physics has developed polymer phasics in the late 1970s.We keep interested with the phase transformation behavior all the time because the interaction between the long-chain polymers in the random line mission is caused by the of their enthalpy.The long-chain polymers provide bigger avilibility to adjust the parameters,and this adjust to the parameters is desired to the proving of the theory.At the same time,the polymer solutions often have slower phenomen in broader areas. Consulting the of model lattice metal and considering the conjoint of the polymer Flory and Huggins separately reported statistical thermodynamics models which named the lattice model theory used in inflexible polymers and their mixted systom. The theory which depicted the thermodynamics property of the polymers and their mixted systoms is accoladed by the physicists and chemists and developed widely because of its explicit physical concept and easy acception.There is big ammount ot hydroxyls on the surface of the CaCO3 particles,so it can easily adsorb organic molecules with carboxyls.Modified with fatty acid, CaCO3 particles will loose the Ca ion and form a hydrophobic layer on the surface of the CaCO3 particle in the conformation of heads to heads and tails to tails.Three layers of this type of conformation will generate a hydrophobic CaCO3 particle. Many reports about the phase behaviors of polymer solutions focus more on the self-assemble of the graft and block copolymers than the interactions among the compositions in the solution of random copolymers( two kinds of monomer units in the copolymer and two kinds of solvent moleculs) and their phase seperation behaviors.We researched this area using the solution of P(MMA-ran-AA) in the mixed solvent consisted of ethyl alcohol and water,and synthesize hydrophobic polymer composit in an easy way of coating CaCO3 particles using the sensitivity of the phase behavior of P(MMA-ran-AA) solution to the environmental temperature.The article includes these points:4. The preparation of a series of P(MMA-ran-AA) using free radical polymerization in the solution,and confirming all the monomers had participated the act polymerization by studying the conversion rate and the react time.5. Solving the polymer in the mixed solvent of ethyl alcohol and water.The solution is sensible to the temperature,and has the phase separation behavior when temperature declines. We reseached the upper critical separating temperature(UCST) by measuring the transmittance,and the affect of the proportion of the monomer units in the copolymers,the proportion of the two solvent,the concentration of the solution to the UCST.We analyze the interaction of the compositions and the cause of the phase separetion in the influence of the pH to the USCT.6. Simple application of the copolymer above.We modify the CaCO3 particles with the method of surface deposition and synthesized the composit material.We compared the Contact angles (with water) of the composit material,the polymer, CaCO3 ,and the mechanical mixture of the polymer and CaCO3 in order to test the polymer on the CaCO3.The result is that, the mechanical mixture has the similar hydrophilics to CaCO3(water completely infiltrated),and the composit material has the similar property to the pure polymer(both the contact angles are bigger than 65°,some samples close to 90°) and it gives the evidence that the the polymer has deposited on the CaCO3 particles,and the great raise of the hydrophobic performance of CaCO3.We also studied the stability of the composit material and the influence of the amount of polymer in the modification procedure to the hydrophobic performance. |
