There are various structures and attractive application for Cu(I) coordination complexs. So considerable attention has been focused on them. Hydro(solvo)thermal techniques have proved to be a promising method to prepare new metal-ligand compounds. In this thesis, four novel copper(I) oligomers and polymers have been synthesized by hydrothermal redox reaction using tartaric acid as a reductant, [Cu4Cl4(bipy)2](1), [Cu2Cl2(phen)]∞(2), [(CuSCN)(CuCN)(phen)2]∞(3), and [Cu(SCN)(bipy)]∞(4). These complexes have been characterized by infrared spectroscopy (IR), themorgrvametric analysis(TGA), X-ray single crystal diffraction.Compound 1 belongs to triclinic crystal system and P (?) Space group. a=7.419(2)(?),α=64.249(4)°, b=9.408(3)(?),β=74.122(4)°, c=9.475(3)(?),γ=88.560(5)°, Z=1, V=569.5(3)(?)3, Dc=2.065g/cm-3. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that compound 1 consist of four chloride-bridged tetranuclear units Cu4Cl4, in which all copper atoms are arranged in the same plane, the distances between nearest neighbor copper atoms are in the range of 2.794 and 2.847(?).Compound 2 belongs to monoclinic crystal system and P2(1)/n Space group. a= 3.7326(8)(?), b= 19.412(6)(?), c=16.793(4)(?),β= 95.355(18)°, Z=4, V=1211.5 (?)3, Dc=2.073g/cm-3. complex 2 consists of one infinite chain which contains two Cu(I) atoms, two Cl- and one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand.Compound 3 belongs to monoclinic crystal system and P2(1)/n Space group. a=13.0052 (?), b=13.4784(?), c=13.478(?),β= 91.53°, Z=4, V=2362.6(?)3, Dc=1.607g/cm-3. The structure of 3 consists of an infinite zigzag chain of [(CuCN)(CuSCN)(phen)2] units, which extends along the c axis.Compound 4 belongs to Orthorhombic crystal system and Pnma Space group. a= 7.9382(5)(?), b=12.3696(8)(?), c=11.5718(6)(?), Z=4, V=1136.26A3, Dc=1.624g/cm-3. Compound 4 consists of an infinite split stair chain formed by [Cu(bipy)]+ unit joined by SCN- groups...
