A Collaboration Platform And Its Implementation For Mould-Making Material Purchase And Customization

Material purchasing and customization is a typical cooperative processing required by internal and external of enterprises. Traditionally, material purchasing and customization processing consumes lots of time on non-increment activities such as information transmission between different departments and documents verification, thus results in low efficiency. Combining with the characteristics of small-to-medium mould-making enterprises (SMEs), who are lacking in developing their own information management system, a framework of collaboration platform is proposed to solve the difficulties.The main works and contributions are as follows:At first, an investigation was made in SMEs mould-making enterprises around the area of pearl river and analysis was conducted. Targeting the problems in enterprises, a network-enabled cooperative platform for the material purchasing and customization was proposed.Secondly, a general solution model was proposed which was based on the pattern of B/S architecture, the several essential functions which were needed to be realized are analyzed in depth, finally, the functional modules were designed in details.Thirdly, based on the proposed general solution model and module design, the system was developed and realized. The three-layer B/S system architecture and the Java technology, and SQL Server database technology was adopted in the system development. This system consists of basic information module and purchase module, which were used to realize a lot system functions such as login, change-user, change-password, user-authority, user-manage, data-backup, supplier-manage, supplier-credit-manage, user-log-view, order-submit, supplier-choose, order-commit, order-check and order-search. With the development of the system functions, the existed data are integrated, their functions can be exerted with fully efficiency, the date sharing is realized in the range of the enterprise and data analyze and application can be processed effectively.Then, an example is used to validate that this system can help the mould-making industry to eliminate dependency on paper, keep employees informed, enhance internal exchange among employees, and makes collaborative work across different enterprises a reality.Finally, a conclusion is drawn, and the application prospects and further research of this system are provided.
