The wood vacuum superheat steam drying is a new drying technology. The study on the wood vacuum superheat is very important for the quality and efficiency of wood drying. This dissertation is studying on the poplar drying characteristic of vacuum superheat steam. The results are following:(1) Experimental equilibrium moisture content of wood with EMC wafer under vacuum. In this research, the relationships among temperature, pressure and EMC were constructed, and the diagram of wood EMC was drafted accordingly, and found the limitations of the theoretic calculate by Dr. Chen.(2) Critical dimension of poplar drying under vacuum superheat steam. In this research, the author got the relationships of Critical dimension of poplar dying, the length of wood, equivalent diameter, drying temperature, pressure and so on.(3) Determination the poplar temperature and humidity field characteristic of vacuum superheat steam. And then analyzing the moisture migration and heat transfer in the unsealed and sealed specimens.
