| Contraposes the actuality that the mines from open pit to underground have a great amount of gangue, the cubage of the gangue impoundment is not enough and have difficulty to purchase lands to rebuild one. The paper puts forward the project of stacking the gangue in the open pit to quest for the ways of exploiting and using it. With the research object—Chengjiagou iron mine, the study surveys the engineering geology and original stress field of the rock, tests the characteristic parameter of the gangue, ascertains the parameter and the mine order of the underground stope, analyses the sTableility of the jamb of the top and the jamb, designs the leakage prevention in the open pit, educes the following conclusions.1.With the parameter of model 1—25 metres span and 8 metres jamb, and the mine order of project 2—from two ends to center, the mine can achieve the best effection. It shows that the project feasible in technique.2.From the analysis of sTableility of the jamb during stacking the gangue in the open pit , we know that the press stress in the jamb of top is slowly increased, they are the linear relation. The gangue stacking obviously affects the protective jamb, the stress clearly increase as the height of the gangue is 15 meters, but the numerical value of the stress is also in the intensity range of the jamb.3.From the analysis of the economy the expense of stacking the gangue in the open pit need about 3 million yuan, but rebuild a gangue impoundment need about 10 million yuan. So it is reasonable in economy.The study has the important significance of reducing the land of gangue impoundment, decreasing the expense of discharging the gangue and strengthening the environment protection of the mine in the circs that our country hasn't enough land. It provides a technique of stacking the gangue in the open pit, which can be used for reference and applied in the similar mines. The technique has the higher expansion value and wide developing foreground.
