This article dealt with the effects of Di-n-butyl phthalate on the Growth of Anabaena sp. PCC 7120.The results showed that soft stimulation effect appeared in lower concentration of DBP.The algae density was 10 % and 20 % higher than control when the concentration of DBP was 1 mg/mL and 2 mg/mL,respectively.But the algae density was lower than control when the concentration of DBP was 4 mg/mL,and the algae density became lower with more DBP.It was also indicated that the soft stimulation effect appeared in lower concentration of DBP by measuring the contents of algal Chlorophyll a,c-phycocyanin(c-pc), soluble protein, adenosine triphosphate (ATP),superoxidase (SOD),glutathione(GSH), peroxidase (POD) and catalase(CAT).Interestingly, at the end of the growth period, the control algae became yellow, and the various physiological parameters declined rapidly (C-PC declined by 95 %,ATP declined by 72 %,soluble protein declined by 90 %,SOD declined by 45 %).However, the algae which had been added to 1 mg/mL and 2 mg/mL DBP were still green,C-PC declined only by 35% and 37%,the ATP declined only by 12 % and 7 %, the SOD declined by 12 % and 19 %,although the soluble protein declined by 56 % and 48 %.It was found that DBP had evident effects on the growth of Anabaena sp. PCC 7120 and delayed the contabescence.Because of the earlier contabescence, the algae which add to 4 mg/mL DBP had been in the next growthing period and its physiological parameters were higher than the control which was in the period of contabescence.
