Up-conversion luminescence nanocrystal Ba0.65Zr0.35F2.70 co-doped Er3+/Yb3+ , Ho3+ / Yb3+ was prepared by hydrothermal method in the presence of complexing agent EDTA. The optimum composition of two types of samples was discussed, respectively, and optimal annealing temperature was determined. The ability of agent EDTA controlling the particle size was also discussed. The phase, structure and surface topograph was analyzed by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope and environment scanning electron microscope. The result showed that the samples were nanocrystals. The up-conversion spectrum was measured with Hitachi F-4500 spectrophotometer, under 980 nm diode laser excitation. The impact of different concentration of rare-earth ions on the up-conversion luminescence intensity was discussed. The relationship between up-conversion relative intensity and pump power was also studied. Ground state absorption, excitation state absorption and energy transfer were used in discussing the up-conversion mechanism of the glasses and up-conversion mechnism models of the glasses were discussed in detail.
