Water eutrophication is one of the most urgent problems to be solved in today's world, which severely affect the safety of drinking water. Ecological techniques is an important method of controlling water eutophication, of which ecological floating bed is one of the most representative ones and has been widely used in the treatment of black and smelly watercourse and polluted lakes and rivers. There have been researches showing that removal efficiency of nitrogen and phosphorous from the heavily polluted water is good, while that from the light polluted water is not so good.Based on this background, a material with high phosphorous removal efficiency---hydrate silicate calcium is utilized as the base of ecological floating island, in order to enrich the low-concentration phosphorous to be further used by plants, thus enhancing the phosphorous removing ability.First of all, the appropriate added amount and particle size was determined, which are 800 mg/Land 6 mu respectively. Secondly, in the growth cabin, removal of low-concentration phosphate (0.095mg/L) by different number of swamp morningglories (20, 50, 100) was compared to determine an appropriate number, and 50 per 10L is the optimum number; On the basis, hydrate of calcium silicate was combined with the swamp morningglory to study the removal of phosphate with different concentration and make comparison with the ordinary floating bed. The results showed that removal of phosphate by intensified floating beds was better than the ordinary ones, the former removal was 89.3% while the later one was 65.4%; On average, the weight of the plant of the intensified floating bed increased by 2.9 times, while that of the later one only increased by 2.0; The pH will change from 7.95 to around 9.0 when only the hydrate of calcium silicate was added, while that of the intensified floating bed remained around 8.0.According to the findings of the laboratory experiment, we go on exploring the situation of pilot experiment in the lake which employs enclosures. By doing this, we try to apply this newly developed intensified floating island into real water. And through the comparison between the removal effect of ordinary and intensified floating island, we try to further prove the advantages of the latter one and study the practical value of the new floating island.
