At the present time, most of blocks at Shuanghe oilfield have already entered extremely high degree of reserve recovery and high water cut period, and production yield for water flooding continuously descends. Polymer flooding has come into the phase of industrialized application after its field experiment. The study of residual oil distribution for polymer flooding is important to make fully use of the residual oil potential, to enhance oil recovery further, and to direct the succeeding exploitation of areas for polymer flooding.The effect is different in various polymer flooding blocks along with the polymer flooding scale being continuously enlarged. On the basis of field experiment of polymer flooding, the effects of its development were systematically analyzed in this paper. It includes the performance characteristics of polymer flooding, appraisal of the development project by polymer flooding, calculation of the augmentation of oil production and affecting factors etc.Based on comprehensive research of geologic reservoir description at Shuanghe oilfield, the potential and distribution of residual oil have been described in detail by using water injection profile, reservoir engineering and water flooded stratum etc. With the aid of numerical simulation technique, the block was historically matched on the water flooding, polymer flooding and follow-up water flooding. Through entire mathematic simulation, the distribution of oil saturation and water saturation at the different time was acquired. This paper quantitatively analyzed the regulation of residual oil distribution and movement of oil and water. It also gave further exploitation toward residual oil after polymer flooding.
