Two main kinds of routes of replacing copper plating with cyanides, electrocoppering in acid solution and Pollution-Free electroless copper plating were explained in this thesis. The characteristics and limits in applying of electrocoppering in acid solution were introduced simply. The definition, characteristics and categories of Pollution-Free electroless copper plating and the pace of progress of its two kinds of quomodos related to this thesis, immersion copper plating and electroless copper plating with reducing agent were reviewed.The two types of chemical polishing baths for the keys, produced by HanShan lock plant, Maoming city, Guangdong Province, Pollution-Free hydrogen peroxide-based solution and conventional nitric acid-based solution, were optimized. All factors effect on polishing effect and their mechanisms of reaction were discussed. And the advantages and disadvantages of the two chemical polishing systems were summarized.The surface qualities and binding powers of plating coats achieved by several familiar acids and the cleanness of experiments were compared. The relative perfect acids were discovered under the conditions of considering all the factors and their mechanisms of reaction were discussed properly.The pretreatment of electroless copper plating with reducing agent was discussed, and in this course, the inapplicability of activating technique for metal-base was discovered, then this process of electroless copper plating on the base directly with reducing agent was considered. The main ingredients, bluestone as main salt, sodium hypophosphite and glyoxalic acid as reducing agent respectively, sodium potassium tartrate and sodium citrate as blending chelating agent and particular additives, of alkaline electroless copper plating bath, was established after consulting large numbers of electroless copper plating on nonmetal-base directly with reducing agent. Continuous self-catalyzed deposition of bright red-yellow copper on steel substrate was achieved successfully through a great deal of iterative experiments.The process flow of spent liquor treatment of electroless copper plating was devised successfully after studying its composition. The results show that this technics could callback the effective ingredients of the bath solution effectually, and depress useless components effectually, too. After that, the spent liquor could let in security.
