Chemiluminescence(CL)analysis has been widely applied in environmental science and life science, which has become one of the most powerful techniques in analytical chemistry. Most CL reactions can finish in several seconds and are prone to the environmental effect;thus, the use of CL assay in quantitative analysis is limited. When CL is combined with flow injection analysis (FIA),FIA-CL analysis can provide high efficiency and accuracy and becomes more and more important in many fields. This paper reports the researches of FIA-CL method in environmental and pharmaceutical analysis.Chapter 1:SummarizationThe mechanism and principles of CL analysis as well as the history of CL analysis and several common CL analysis are mentioned. Some other techniques that are combined with CL analysis have been summarized. The researches and applications of CL analysis in environmental and pharmaceutical analysis in recent years have been introduced.Chapter 2:Determination of carbaryl based on the Ce(Ⅳ)-RhB-carbaryl FIA-CL analysis systemA simple, sensitive and rapid FIA-CL analysis has been developed for the determination of carbaryl based on the chemiluminescence reaction of carbaryl with ceric sulfate in sulphuric acid medium which can be augmented by rhodamine B.Strong chemiluminescence signal was observed when carbaryl was injected into the acidic ceric sulfate solution in a flow-cell.The present method allowed the determination of carbaryl in the concentration range of 2.0×10-6to 1.0×10-4mol L-1 and the detection limit for carbaryl was 5.6×10-9mol L-1.The relative standard deviation was 1.8 %for 11 replicated analyses of 1.0×10-5mol L-1carbaryl.The proposed method was applied to the determination of carbaryl in water sample with satisfactory results.Chapter 3:Determination of nickel(Ⅱ)by luminol-K3Fe(CN)6-Ni(Ⅱ)FIA-CL analysisA new luminol-K3Fe(CN)6-Ni2+second FIA-CL analysis for the determination of nickel(Ⅱ) based on its catalysis to the CL system of luminol-K3Fe(CN)6 has been developed. The detection limit of Ni(Ⅱ)is 1.7×10-9mol L-1.and the nickel(Ⅱ)concentration range of linear response is from 8.0×10-7to 6.0×10-6mol L-1.The proposed procedure has been satisfactorily applied to the determination of Ni(Ⅱ)in water samples.Chapter 4:Determination of ferulic acid by Ce(Ⅳ)-Rh6G-ferulic acid FIA-CL analysisBased on the chemiluminescence reaction of ferulic acid with rhodamine 6G and ceric sulfate in sulphuric acid medium, strong chemiluminescence signal was observed when ferulic acid was injected into the acidic ceric sulfate solution in a flow-cell.The present method allowed the determination of ferulic acid in the concentration range of 8.0×10-6to 1.0×10-4mol L-1and the detection limit for ferulic acid was 8.7×10-9mol L-1.The proposed method was applied to the determination of ferulic acid in Taita Beauty Essence samples with satisfactory results.Chapter 5:Determination of dopamine by Luminol-KMnO4-dopamine FIA-CL analysisIt was found that the CL system from the reaction of KMnO4 with luminol in alkaline solution could be strongly enhanced by dopamine.Based on this phenomenon,a new FIA-CL analysis for the determination of dopamine was proposed. The detection limit for dopamine was 2.5×10-10mol L-1 and the determination of dopamine in the concentration range of 2.0×10-6to 2.0×10-5mol L-1. The method was successfully applied to the determination of dopamine in injection samples.
