1. The surfactant can be used in simulating membrane structure, technology of synthesizing LB membrane, and as media or controlling the release for dye, quantum dot and drug etc., as well as relative fields. Therefore, it is important to design and synthesize surfactant with particular structure and functions. This article designs and synthesize two kinds of new surfactant. The first one is a kind of new surfactant Azo-AOT, which deals with the addition of azobenzene which reacts when meets light to surfactant 2-(2-ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate (AOT), thus creating a kind of surfactant (azo-AOT) containing light active azobenzene group. The other one is a surfactant of block copolymer which contains light active and acid active pyridine azobenzene group. Synthesizing this surfactant through Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP)。The structure and properties of the two new surfactant was characterized by various means such as nuclear magnetic resonance (~1HNMR),UV-vis and Infrared spectra. This dissertation concerns the addition of azobenzene group and pyridine azobenzene group to the surfactant molecule, which makes them possible to reversibly control the forming and breaking down of the capsule under light irradiation or acid. This is because of azobenzene group can have reversible cis-trans isomerization under the irradiation of UV - visible light and the nitrogen atom of pyridine can incorporate to acid, further these effects will cause the breaking down and new forming of the capsule. Therefore, the process of forming the capsule in the solvent can be controlled by many methods, which make the surfactant will be widely used.2. Much interest focuses on the exploration of ferroelectric liquid crystal because it has special feature such as fast response comparing with liquid crystal. Chiral molecular structure can endow the materials with property of ferroelectric liquid crystal, so we introduce the chiral sulftone group into the liquid crystal molecule to fabricate the ferroelectric liquid crystal material. The molecular structure was confirmed by mass spectrometry (MS), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (HNMR) and UV spectra (UV spectrophotometer). It is expected to have the property of ferroelectric liquid crystal and potential application.
