Polypropylene (PP) is one of five primary general purpose plastics. Due to its excellent integrated performanceand, it's been applied widely. However, there also exists some weakness yet. A certain amount of nano particles blended with PP has little impact on the tensile and flexural strength and modulus of PP composite material. Instead, it can greatly improve its impact resistance and toughness. Blending inorganic / organic composite particles to modify PP not only endow PP composite material with excellent weatherability, lightfastness, but also meliorate its mechanical properties and overcome poor compatibility between inorganic phase and organic phase interface. Accordingly, that weakness which tends to result in unstable combination and declining material toughness is erased.The preparation and properties of HALS composite particles and fluorine-containing composite particles were studied in this paper. Coupled with the said two composite particles, a kind of hydrophobic composite particles was applied to be blended with PP. The impact on mechanical performance of composite material by blending was analyzed.Two kinds of hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS) were synthesized by 1, 2, 2, 6, 6-pentamethyl-4-piperidinol reacting with y-isocyanatepropyltriethoxy silane (KBE-9007) and y-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxy silane (DB-560) respectively, and their emulsion was prepared. Two kinds of composite particles were obtained by the resulting HALS emulsion treating with surface of the nano silica, and their properties were investigated. The composite materials were prepared by the particles blending with PP and their performance were studied.A kind of fluorine-containing compound was synthesized by perfluorinated decano (FA-10) reacting with y-glycidoxy propyl trimethoxy silane (DB-560), and the emulsion was prepared. A kind of composite particles was obtained by the resulting same emulsion treating with surface of the nano silica, and their properties were investigated. The composite material was prepared by the particles blending with PP and their performance were studied.Hydrophobic composite particles has excellent hydrophobicity, nice compatibility to polypropylene. A certain amount of hydrophobic composite particles and flame retardant were blended into PP and the mechanical properties of composite material and flame retardancy can be improved greatly. The composite material was prepared by the particles blending with PP and their performance were studied.The synthesis mechanism of HALS composite particles and fluorine-containing composite particles were discussed by FT-IR analysis of its structural features. PP composites modified by blending with these composite particles were prepared. The impact on mechanical performance of composite material by blending was analyzed.
