Now, the human faces many major issues, including the problem about eclolgical environment and ecosystem healthy.To analyse the condition of ecosystem,the evaluation of ecology health becomes the goal and direction of the ecosystem management gradually.At the same time,the importance is attached to the evaluation of ecosystem health.Although the evaluation has provided the basis for establishing the policy about ecosystem protection,the evaluation of ecosystem health also may improve sustainable management level and environment management level.GIS has applied in the research of entironment , including supervising,evaluation,management, forecast, layout of environment.Besides,GIS may synthetically process correlative datas and duly show correlative information.Firstly,referring many correlative literature about the evaluation of ecology health, the author establish the evaluation frame and select many indicators, which reflect the environmental state of the area and is achieved easily. The indicators ,which is selected, reflect the essence of the ecosystem of the area, focus on service function of the area. Human,as a factor, should be regarded as a part of the ecosystem of small watershed. Besides, the indicators, which is selected, should be scientific, systemic, operable and integrated. Secondly, the author gained the basic data of the small watershed named Huanglongyan, distilled correlative information, and evaluated the ecosystem health of the Small watershed named Huanglongyan. Correlative data in grid chart was vectored. And then, DEM, slop, land types, water, the distribution of the soil erosion intensity were gained. Afterwards, correlate indicators were quantitated. At the same time , the NDVI of the small watershed named Huanglongyan was detilled from TM data and the value of the indicators was achieved. In the end, the assessment result, which reflects the ecosystem health of the small watershed named Huanglongyan, is 0.6565.From the in-depth research, there are many results, which hampered the enhancement of the ecosystem health level of the small watershed named Huanglongyan , including highness of population density, intensity of human disturbance, and press from human in the area. Third , by studying the knowledge about the ArcEngine development , considering the demand of the appraisement of ecosystem's health, the author design a proposal of GIS development, which appraise the ecosystem health of the small watershed and achieve the whole function. The GIS is provided with not only some general functions, but also other functions, which include loading, finding and editing of layers. Meanwhile, the GIS endeavor to improve the precision and efficiency of data processing. Besides,the GIS leaves behind some interfaces to provide Convenience for developers and avoid developing repeatedly. What is the importance, the GIS development seeks perfect arrangement, powerful function, easy interfaces, consistent style and uniform standard. The professional idea, which guides the evaluation of ecosystem health, is integrated into the GIS.Finally, in this papers the writer introduces the application , modeling, analyse, conjecture of the GIS. By debugging the programme, the writer is improving on some functions and will achieve the management of the GIS more perfect.
