BCPPO (bis (4-carboxyphenyl) phenyl phosphine oxide) is a preferable flame retardantbecause of its excellent thermal stability, thermo-oxidative stability and resisting-hydrolyzation, and can react with what need to be flame retarded and has persistent flame retardant as a part of them. The concept, mechanism, development and tendency of the world in the future and classification of flame retardant, and the studying significance of this theme are introduced in this paper. The optimal synthesis route is ascertained and the synthesis courses are studied.Because the production of BCPPO still is in experiment. To achieve industrialization of a product, some facets as following were studied.Firstly, stabilize the technology of synthesis and confirm the optimal conditions of reaction. The DCPP(Phenyl phosphorus bichloride) was synthesized by dripping method that optimized the condition of reaction and reduced the part overabundance quantity of heat. The The optimal material rate, the optimal temperature and reaction time of sulfuration and the optimal temperature and time of reaction of DCPPS(Phenyl phosphorus sulfur bichloride)and toluene were confirmed in synthesis of BMPPS(bis (4- methyl phenyl) phenyl phosphine sulfide). The rate of BMPPS, solvents and oxidant in the first oxidation process and the optimal oxidation time and pH in the second oxidation process in synthesis of BCPPO were confirmed.Secondly, The purify technology of products was studied. The optimal purify methods were confirmed through different solvents in re-crystal and lavation methods. And the purified products BMPPS and BCPPO were token. The methods of calculate the purify of BMPPS and BCPPO were confirmed, and the purify of coarse products were analyzed. The performance of flame retardant BCPPO was analyzed through DSC and applying it into nylon 66. Thirdly, the amplify of synthesis course was studied, The solvents of influence of inner temperature, temperature grads and concentration grads, and reaction periods etc. to amplified synthesis course were put forward. And the exhaust gas, waste liquid and waste residue were dealed with reasonably.
