The thesis promoted a CAD/CAM technical method of the shoe last, which is based on the human foot skeleton and muscle model that comes from human foot CT images. It first discussed the necessity and significance of research on the CAD/CAM technique of the customized shoe last, through the investigation on the current techniques of domestic and worldwide. Then based on the analysis of the advantage and disadvantage of the current method of the shoe last design and manufacturing, a new method of constructing a parameterized shoe last model refer to the human foot skeleton and muscle model was promoted. With the technique of reverse engineering, the foot skeleton model and muscle model were built respectively based on a group of foot CT images. Furthermore, the feature-based shoe last digital model was built, considering both the standard of shoe manufacturing and the relationship between the foot model and the shoe last. The feature-based shoe last model could be parametrically controlled. After that, the paper discussed the CAM method of shoe last, and took the design and manufacture of a type of slipper mold using the shoe last model as an example of the application of the shoe last. The conclusion and the perspective of future were given at the end.
