Shoe-last is very important in the whole shoemaking industry and is the mould of shoe style. And the quality of shoe-last indirectly has affect on the quality of the shoe. High quality of shoe is required by people, so the high quality of shoe-last must be gained. In order to get high quality of shoe-last, in this paper data processing of the sample of shoe-last measured by the shoe-last machine, the 3D parameterized surface modeling of shoe-last, and the planning and optimizing of shoe-last machining tool path are researched. At the same time a kind of shoe-last CAD/CAM software prototype system is developed.The measurement mode of 3D surface points coordinates is analyzed and the measuring method is chose according to the shoe-last characteristics, which realizes the points coordinates measuring of the surface of shoe-last. The characteristics and the laws of the distribution of sharp points is also analyzed;The recognition and extracting methods of sharp points are researched, and the method and the algorithm of points smoothing are gained.According to the characteristics of shoe-last scaling, the feature parameters for shoe-last modeling is calculated, and the points in the measurement coordinate system are transformed to the model coordinate system, getting the discrete math model and the double cubic NURBS surface model and researching on the method and algorithm of shoe-last scaling.The algorithm of planning technique of shoe-last machining tool path based on the shortest distance method is researched, an algorithm of quick searching the shortest distance point is obtained, and a method of optimizing tool path based on the surface of high quality is researched.The motion of the shoe-last machine is analyzed, obtaining the relationship between the tool path of shoe-last machining and the motion decomposition of coordinate system of shoe-last machine, and using PMAC post processing tool-path .Owing to the above researches results, The simulation of machining on Vericut software is implemented, and the shoe-last CAD/CAM software prototype system based on the ACIS platform and VC++6.0 software is developed.
