Nanometer ZnO is a novel fine chemical inorganic material. As a wide band semiconductor material with the energy gap of 3.37eV and free exciton binding energy of 60meV, ZnO is obtaining increasingly attention for its distinctive features. As a rising functional material, nanometer silver possesses very high specific area and surface activity, and therefore it can be utilized as low-temperature Super-conducting material, catalyst material, antiseptic materials, electrostatic prevention material and so on. In this paper, nanometer ZnO and Ag material of different kinds of appearances and with well dispensability were prepared with organic matters as ligand. The effects of experimental parameters on the appearances of the products were researched systematically and the relative mechanisms were discussed. Thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG - DTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transfer infrared spectra transmission (FT- IR), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) were adopted to characterize the chemical compositions and properties of the products.Firstly, with long chain organic saturated fatty acid as soft template, wurtzite ZnO nanomaterial of different appearances were prepared under the polymerization inhabitation and combustion supporting effects of the fatty acid. The product possessed well monodispersity and no conglobation. Three organic fatty acids, namely stearic acid, palmitinic acid and lauric acid, were adopted as template. with shorter carbon chain, the decomposition temperature of formed organic complex deceases. The effect of organic acids with different chain lengths on the appearances of products can be explained with the Minimum Energy Principle, and the processes of appearance transformation had their own specialty.Ag nanomaterial of good dispensability was prepared by using liquid phase reduction method with the organic macromolecule polyvinyl pyrrolidone (K30) as ligand, under the high temperature reduction of glycol in liquid phase. The product possessed a uniform modular appearance, with the crystal form of isometric system. The effects of different quality ratios and reflux times on the appearance of products were researched. The prolonged reflux time resulted in bigger particle size, and the increasing of PVP dosage resulted in smaller one.
