With the development of the extrusion products and new ways, people pay more attention to extrusion theories. The process of Ram-punch extruder is developed in recent years. It's applied in the produce of PTFE, PEX, UHMWPE and so on, which are high viscoelastic materials.In the processing of Ram-punch extruder, the ram of small cross-area pushes power into barrel. The materials melt under a certain temperature, and mould directly in the long die. By comparison with traditional methods, it has some advantages: high melting quality, simple equipment and processing and so on.According to the molding method, the research of the melting process is carried on in some aspects. Firstly, the Ram-punch extrusion was divided into four regions, which is to say those are solid-feeding region, melt region, transitional region, mold region. The physical and mathematic model was built, and temperature was analyzed. Second, duo to the peculiarity of melting, the physical and mathematic extrusion model is built, which explain the phenomenal of interim feeding and successional extrusion and with the application of hydrodynamics and rheology, got the convenient result. Finally, I made use of the melting model, exerted the analytic software ANSYS, analyzed the melting process of the UHMWPE in the melting section and got the melting time under different circumstances. The result accorded with practical process, give help on more improving the Ram-punch extruder.
