Indoles are a class of heterocycle with important physiological function and potent pharmacological activity. The development of new efficient, selective and green synthetic methods of the 3-substituted indole derivatives has attracted sustained attention in organic synthesis due to their important biological activities and key role as versatile building bocks in the synthesis of natural products and therapeutic agents. So the development of new efficient methods leading to indole derivatives continues to receive more attention in organic systhesis. Therefore, it is important to study on the 3-substituted indole derivatives.Organic catalytic reaction is a new research field in recent years. It is widely used of heteropoly acids as environmental friendly. Heteropoly acids exhibit high activities and selectivities and allow cleaner processes than conventional catalysts. Due to commercial availability, ease of handing, remarkably low toxicity, environmentally friendly, and economically feasible solid catalyst, organic reactions using heteropoly acids, and they exhibit strong acidity and high activity for various acid-catalyzed reactions, so heteropoly acids received more attention in recent years. Considerating this, we use heteropoly acids on the synthesis of some 3-substituted indole derivatives andβ-indoleone. In this paper, we have described catalyst loadings and solvent effect on these reactions, offering a novel method for the 3-substituted indole derivatives.This thesis includes two major parts:The first part is about literature review. The progress in application and synthesis of 3-substituted indole derivatives were explicated systematically and briefly elucidated the progress in application of heteropoly acids in organic reactions.The second part is about experimental part.Major work as follows:1,Catalytic conjugate addition of indoles withα,β-unsaturated ketones by phosphotungstic acid 2,The Friedel-Crafts reaction of indoles with imines by phosphotungstic acid3,Catalytic Synthesis of Bis(indolyl)methanes by phosphotungstic acid4,Study on Mannich reaction by phosphotungstic acid and phosphomolybdic acidThe structure of all these new compounds that were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR.
