The ceramic polish line and sliding-plate in the feeding system of press are important factors of affecting quality of ceramic. Base-plate and the sliding-plate must have high certain impact toughness and excellent wear resistance. On the basis of that, the effects of the ratio of Cr and C(Cr/C) and Si content on the microstructure of high-chrome cast iron and hardness, impact toughness and wear resistance was studied by the method of contrast experiments.Firstly, the effects of Cr/C on the microstructure and hardness, the impact toughness and wear resistance of high chromium cast iron were studied by fixing the Cr content of 25wt.%, 28wt.%, 31wt.% respectively, and adjusting the C content. The results shown that: Cr/C was a primary affecting factor for amounts and shapes of carbides. With the increase of Cr/C, the microstructure of alloy changed from hypereutectic to eutectic,hypoeutectic. The hardness of the alloymaterial declined gradually. Under the same Cr/C, with the increase content of Cr and C, the hardness of the alloy was higher. That was to say, the hardness of Cr31 was higher than Cr28 and Cr25. The impact toughness of alloy increased firstly and then decreased with the increase of Cr/C, and the best impact toughness was 3.45J/cm2, 5.1J/cm2 and 5.0J/cm2 for Cr31, Cr28 and Cr25 corresponding to Cr/C of 11,12,11 respectively. The wear resistance declined with the increase of Cr/C. When the pressure was 70N, the Cr31 obtained the better wear resistance. When the pressure was 170N, Cr28 obtained the better wear resistance. Cr25 and Cr28 were optimized by the impact toughness and wear resistance for the further study.Secondly, when Cr/C was 10, the effects of Si on the microstructure and hardness, impact toughness and wear resistance of Cr25 and Cr28 cast iron were studied. The results shown that: with the content of Si declined, microstructure changed from single hypereutectic carbides to dendritic eutectic carbides, and the hardness increased, the impact toughness declined, the wear resistance declined firstly and then increased. When pressure was 70N, the content of Si was 2.0wt.%, Cr25 and Cr28 cast iron obtained the best wear resistance. When pressure was 170N, Cr25 cast iron obtained the best wear resistance at the Si content of 2.0wt.%, while the Cr28 cast iron obtained the best wear resistance at the Si content of 1.6wt.%. Cr25 was optimized by the impact toughness and wear resistance to develop the new-type material.Finally, the wear resistance of the Cr25 cast iron and ordinary ceramic were compared. The results shown that: Cr25 cast iron obtained the better impact toughness and the wear resistance. Foundry process of the Cr25 cast iron was studied, and new-type extra wear resistance material was developed for base-plate of the ceramic polisher and the sliding-plate in the feeding system of press.
