Hydrazine hydrate is a kind of very important and widely used fine chemical raw material, however, the waste water come from processing of hydrazine hydrate includes a few poisonous hydrazine hydrate and a great many ammonia nitrogen. So, go with the constantly extending yields of hydrazine hydrate process, how to deal with these high ammonia nitrogen content waste water have attracted more and more attentions in this fields of industry. On the basis of collecting abundant references, this thesis report traditional treating methods to waste water with ammonia nitrogen and chlorine dioxide eddy foam separation process respectively. In the first part of this paper, first of all, air stripping was studied to deal with waster water with high percentage of ammonia nitrogen. Many concretly works relating to removal effect have been done including the pH of waste water, ratio between the gas and the liquid, temperature and time of air stripping, then, orthogonal design experimenets were carried out, under the optimal conditions, the removal of ammonia nitrogen was 92.13%. Secondly, chemical precipitation method was adopted to treating the same waste water. Some factors relating to removal effect such as the pH of waste water, dose of Na2HPO4·12H2O and MgCl2·6H2O are mainly assessed, meanwhile, went along with orthogonal design experimenets, under the optimal conditions, the removal of ammonia nitrogen was 88.45%. But it was gained that the two conventional methods above have no effect for the reduction of COD of the waste water with hydrazine hydrate. In the second part, chlorine dioxide eddy foam separation process was investigated carefully. Many correlative parameters which have influences on treating effect involve pH, the dose of chlorine dioxide and action time were studied. The treating conditions were optimized by orthogonal design with the goal of maximizing trating efficiency. The optimum removal parameters were:pH=10,the dose of chlorine dioxide is 5mg/1000CODcr per liter waste water, reaction time is 180 minutes. Parallel experiments were repetitiously done under the optimal conditions, results showed that removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen and COD was 98.1% and 99.8% respectively, treating effect are clearly superior than traditional methods. In the end, amplified experiments were carried out in engineering machine, relative problems were also analyzied accordingly. In addition, the mass-transfer kinetics of chlorine dioxide eddy foam separation process was reviewed. The research showed that a new and highly efficient method for treating waste water with hydrazine hydrate compounds through chlorine dioxide eddy foam separation process is worth to be applied and commercialized.
