Mixing equipment is widely used in many industrial processes. The flow field characteristics within reactors are an important component of mixing reactor optimized design,but the design in laboratory is not consistent with industrial design. Laboratory design focuses on theoretical analysis, and industrial design usually uses professional software to optimize the mixing devices. To combine actual production, the study improves the baffles in the reactor. Four kinds of baffles were designed, LDV and MIXSIM were used to measure and analyze the flow field in the reactor. The practical flocculation experiments have been done.The mean velocity range in all reactors is consistent from LDA measure, all from 0 to 2.0 m/s, but the focus are different. The common and semicircle baffle reactors are from 0.1 to 0.65 m/s, the drilled baffle reactor is from 0.2 to 0.75 m/s, the sine baffle reactor is from 0.45 to 1.0 m/s; for RMS, the sine baffle reactor is from 0.13 to 0.23 m/s, the common and semicircle baffle reactors are from 0.075 to 0.16 m/s, the drilled baffle reactor is from 0.1 to 0.2 m/s; for turbulent kinetic energy, the common and semicircle baffle reactor are from 0.02 to 0.845 m2/s2, the drilled baffle reactor is from 0.08 to 1.125 m2/s2, the sine baffle reactor is from 0.405 to 2.0 m2/s2.The maximum speed is on the two surfaces which cover the baffles, and it is up to 2.05 m/s, the current in the surface is increase,decrease,increase and decrease. The maximum distribution of turbulent intensity which is generated by sine baffle reactor enhance 3.8%,1.4%,0.8% and the needed shaft power reduce 6.1%,5.0%,4.7% respectively.In order to investigate the flocculation effect, we do different experimentations which include rapid stirring speed,rapid stirring time,slow stirring speed,slow stirring time. Compared with optimal results in different conditions, the rate of water content in the sine baffle enhance 0.3~2.5%,1~3.3%,0.2~1.9% and the turbidness reduce 11.5~59%,8.9~39.3%,1.6~4.9% respectively.
