By the talk of mechanical design, the main mission of network manufacturing is collaborative design. When we talk about design, we will think intelligent design. Mechanical design has always combined with computer integrated manufacturing. Why not combining mechanical design with network manufacturing?The main research content of the topic is to investigate how to lead the method theories of intelligent design into network collaborative design, to make design mission completed better.The future design will be network collaborative design. So we set up a model which can connect designer with integrated network intelligent design platform. All the network intelligent design platforms can form the integrated network intelligent design platform. Intelligent design can resolve the knowledge processing problem which the network collaborative design involves.Network collaborative design contains internet mutual language, internet server and so on. Mechanical design in intelligent design always reasons by using logical methods. So we use Rule-Based Reasoning (RBR), Case-Based Reasoning (CBR) and internet mutual language to set up a network intelligent design platform.We use the design of spindle of bench-type ultra-precision turning machine as an example, analyze the characteristic of spindle of bench-type ultra-precision turning machine, conceive reasoning rules, and then carry out the design.The research of the topic will provide theories and technique support to the network intelligent design of mechanical products.
