The glass fiber reinforced plastic compound material (GFRP), with its excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance,is gradually being of great importance to scientists, and widely used in the aviation, aerospace and marine areas. However, corrosion of polymer materials research are not enough in-depth and extensive than metal corrosion .The lake of corrosion data on FRP limits its application in the marine areas.Through collate and summarize the basic corrosion theories of composite materials in saline condition, this paper analyzed the form and process of FRP corrosion; simulated natural environment. The accelerated simulation experiments on different temperatures and salinity were made. The corrosion mechanism and laws were analyzed, through material apparent conditions, mechanical properties, microscopic changes in the structure. Based on the equation of median aging expectancy and the remaining strength, a model of accelerated aging was established. According to the consistent attenuation of the mechanical properties of GFRP in aging period, a model of mechanical properties attenuation with aging time in saline condition was established. The corrosion life prediction model was established on the basic of empirical equation.Test results show that the thermal stability, surface hardness, bending and tensile properties of the GFRP declined on the overall, and the appearance changed. Performance declined further more, along with the increase of temperature and duration of corrosion. Corrosion residual strength equation and corrosion life prediction formula were established based on the empirical formula...
