Mn2O3 was widely used as the semiconductor materials or catalyst materials, and also used for preparing soft magnetic materials such as manganese ferrite Zinc, oxygen storage catalytic materials and so on.Mn2O3 nano-fibers have high surface area, so they have been applied to various fields widely. In this paper, Mn2O3 nano-fibers were prepared with different templates.First,Nanofibers of poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN)/MnAc2,- poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA)/ MnAc2 and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)(PVP)/MnAc2 were prepared using sol-gel method and electrospinning technique, respectively. After calcinations of the above three precursor fibers at 700°C, Mn2O3 nano-fibers were successfully obtained, respectively. The nano-fibers were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Infrared spectra (IR), Raman spectra (Raman), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). All the results show that the kind of favorite nano-fibers with smooth surface and uniform morphology were obtained.Magnetic property measurements suggested that the Mn2O3 nano-fibers presented ferromagnetic- anti-ferromagnetic - paramagnetic behavior. Néel temperature was 80K. Curie temperatures were 40K, 40K and 38K, respectively. Due to different processes of preparation, salt has good uniformity and forms unbreak of Mn2O3 nano-fibers using PVA precursor. But the obtained nano-fibers have different homogeneous diameters. The homogeneous diameters were 52nm, 52nm and 49nm for PAN,PVA and PVP precursors.
