| The characteristic of open is one of the main research arrears and key techniques of CNC system. The purpose of research on open CNC system is to establish a new type of modular, reconfigurable and scalable control system to enhance the flexibility of CNC system. As a result, CNC system can be responsive to the new processing requirements quickly and economically. In order to achieve real open CNC system of cross-platform, this paper presents a new kind of open CNC system which is based on quantum framework (QF). In sum, this paper is organized as follows.The development situation of open CNC system is introduced in this paper at first. Then, the paper analyzes problems and limitations in the course of developing open CNC system in domestic and overseas countries and indicates that only by separating the CNC system software from hardware and operation system can we carry out the practical open system with regardless of the platforms. So this paper proposes a new kind of open CNC system based on QF to meet above requirements. The basic principles, structure and development situation of QF is introduced and the architecture of open CNC system based on QF is given in paper. Besides, the advantage of quantum framework is described in paper. In addition, the paper indicates that QF is based on finite state machine (FSM). When the CNC system is described in FSM, it can be translated into programming language easily by QF. The basic principles of FSM are given in paper. Besides, the paper introduces how to describe CNC system in FSM based on the characteristic of CNC system. Then, the simple FSM modeling of CNC system is given and how the QF carries out loose coupled relation among function modules of CNC system is narrated in paper. The pattern to transform the FSM modeling of CNC system into programming code based on QF is given in paper after comparing several other ways. At last, the paper takes lathe as an example to explain how to design QF according to application requirements.
