Solid—stabilized emulsions (Pickering emulsions)is that solid particles as emulsifier in the emulsion instead of the traditional surfactant which is a thermodynamic stability and dynamic instability system. It can be used in the synthesis of new materials, heterogeneous catalysis, medicine, cosmetics, and other aspects. For nearly 100 years of research, solid—stabilized emulsion achieved certain results theory. However, the solid particles at the interface behavior, the stability factors, solid particles and emulsion stability, the solid particle morphology of the impact on the emulsion, mixed solid particles on the impact of latex, latex thermodynamics, and kinetics deep problems still have not studied very much. In order to solve the problems, the morphology of different particles was controlled, and the wettability of solid particles, solid particle morphology, mixed solid particles effect on the stability of Pickering emulsions were discussed. Then the prepared emulsions were used as templates for the syntheses of inorganic / organic composite materials.Calcium carbonate crystals with various morphologies were synthesized by appending different additives (PEG-2000, ethylene glycol, Oπ-10) in the CaCl2/-Na2CO3 reaction system. Cube-shaped (calcite), rod-like (aragonite-crystal) and spherical crystalline (aragonite) were prepared by adjusting reaction conditions.Spherical copper carbonate particles were prepared by using CO2 foams as templates. Silica particles were prepared by the hydrolysis of TEOS.All particles were modified by reaction with A-151 in the surroundings of ethanol. The wettability of the particles was characterized by the settlement time of solid particles in distilled water. Different solid-stabilized particles and mixed particles stabilized emulsions were prepared. The stability of the emulsions were observed by optical microscope. As a result, the stability of single particles stabilized emulsions increase with the wettability of it decreased ; the stability could increased as mixture two kinds of particles as emulsify. When mixture three kinds of particles as emulsify, the solid-stabilized emulsions had the best stability.Orderly assembly of nano-particles in the solid organic polymer outer surface and preparation of the new nano-inorganic / organic composite materials by the template of as prepared emulsions. The effect of different particles on the Pickering emulsions was investigated by the composite materials. The results show that solid-stabilized emulsion had thermodynamic equilibrium lag; mixed solid particles than single-component solid particles adsorption more at the interface, the hydrolysis of solid particles on the interface connecting each other in the interface constitute a whole and enhance the strength of the interfacial film, mixing solid particles can effectively increase the stability of the emulsion.
