Based on the monitoring data of Xiamen WuYu provisional dumping District in 03 ,05-07 years, this paper evaluates and analyses water quality, surface sediments, marine life, water depth of the WuYu provisional dumping District and gets the conclusions as follows:The DO, COD, Cu, Zn, Cd, Cr in WuYu provisional dumping District accords with the first category of water quality standards. The active phosphate, suspended solids, oils, Pb, Hg accords with three categories of water quality standards ,the Inorganic nitrogen is more than three categories of water quality standards. According to the study, the water of Wuyu provisional dumping District has been mild polluted, in which, the pollution cause by organic is most seriously, secondly by the heavy metal and no caused by the oil. And the waters in the district is eutrophication.The sediments on the surface of Wuyu provisional dumping District mainly accords with the first category of sediment standards. Based on the accumulated index of geological method, it shows that the heavy metals of Pb, Cr, Cd, Zn, As in Wuyu haven't been polluted. And Cu, Hg have been polluted slightly. Based on the multiple potential ecological risk method shows that the risk of Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr which can cause potential harm to ecological is slightly. And the rate of the harm to ecological caused by Hg is from middle to the highest. The comprehensive potential ecological risks belongs to the middle ecological risk during these four years.The species and density of phytoplankton, zooplankton are higher in low tide than in climax, in summer than in winter which was caused by the impact of the season changes in Wuyu provisional dumping district. But the species and density of phytoplankton are decreasing year by year and the species , density and biomass of zooplankton are increasing. The species of benthic life in Wuyu dumping district in recent four years are lower than the monitoring data in 1995. Also some species are no longer exist during these four years monitoring. Among the monitoring of 05-07 years, the species of hair like increase in the proportion of monitoring species ,it shows that physical and chemical properties of the environment in benthal has changed, sedimentary environment is likely to change into organic enrichment environment.The water in WuYu dumping district has become shallow than in 1995, but the level of siltation is low. And it will not be affected much to the dumping district and the surrounding waters. Compared by the maps of these years, some regions show the siltation or erosion different from time to time. It means, on one hand the single point dumping by the ships cause the siltation in WuYu dumping district. On the other hand the siltation can be washed out. It means that the hydrodynamic conditions in Wuyu dumping district is better.By the comprehensive analysis of water quality, surface sediments, marine life, water depth of Wuyu dumping district, the dumping activities of these many years effect little harm on the marine ecological environment in Wuyu dumping district. So Wuyu dumping district can be continue to use.
