By many years research on the rubber reinforcing techniques and the relative mechanism,our laboratory put forward a structural model and design thought of rubber ideal filler(IF).In this paper,three styles ofmonodisperse crosslinked nano-latex particles were prepared by emulsion polymerzation.The average size and monodispersity of particles were tested by both TEM and AutoSize IOC-Fc963.And the average size of monodisperse PS nano-particles was 43nm and dispersion coefficient of PS wasε=1.028 or PDI=0.051,the average size and dispersion coefficient of Pα-MS-St were 42.7nm and PDI=0.066,and that of Pα-MS-AN were 52.1nm and PDI=0.038.In this paper,core-shell nanoparticles with hard core and soft shell, PS/PI and PαMS-AN/PI,were prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization with high-pressure reactor for the first time.The thickness of shell was increased to 11.5nm by multilayer reaction and the structure of core-shell nanoparticle were proved by TEM and DSC.The factors including the amount of emulsifier and shell-monomer as well as the way of monomer feeding,which affected the shell thickness of PS/PI andαMS-AN/PI,were discussed.The way of connection between core and shell was chemical bond,which was validated by extraction and IR.It has not been reported that PS/PI and PαMS-AN/PI core-shell nanoparticles with hard core and soft shell were prepared by seed emulsion polymerzation with high-pressure reactor.In addition,the polymeric nona-latex particles prepared in this paper were filled respectively into SBR,NBR and NR with the latex compounding method.The results showed that the mechanical properties of PS/SBR nanocomposites were better than carbon black/SBR,and the density of PS/SBR was obviously lighter than carbon black/SBR.In SBR and NR,the reinforced properties of PS and PS/PI with different thickness shell were better thanα-MS-AN and PαMS-AN/PI with different thickness shell,while that was contrary in NBR.In NR,the reinforced properties of PS/PI and PαMS-AN/PI were respectively better than PS andα-MS-AN,besides,with the increase of the shell's thickness the reinforced properties of core-shell latex particles became better.The idea that the core-shell nanoparticles were served for the filler of rubber has never been reported as far.
