The technology of supercritical carbon dioxide dyeing,known as "an innovative and green dyeing technology" with fast dyeing,good level dyeing,less cost and simple dyeing processes,has been concerned more and more.A flow-type dyeing apparatus was applied to toning dyeing of terylene fabric with disperse red 343 and disperse blue 366 in supercritical carbon dioxide using two processes(one bath dyeing process and two-bath dyeing process)at the temperature from 70℃to 130℃and pressures from 16 MPa to 24 MPa.The uptakes of dyes and the dyeing deepness(K/S value)in one bath dyeing process increased with increasing temperature or pressures.The max uptake appeared at 120℃or 22 MPa,max K/S value appeared at 110℃or 20 MPa.Selectivity and compitition of dyeing between two dyes existed during the one bath dye process.During two-bath dyeing process the dyes' uptake in the first dyeing bath and the dyeing deepness(K/S value)increased with increasing temperature or pressure of the first dyeing bath,but the dyes' uptake in the second dyeing bath changed a little.The uptakes of both dyes and the dyeing deepness(K/S value)increased with increasing temperature or pressure of the second dyeing bath.The max value appeared at 120℃(uptake)and 110℃(K/S).The high temperature of the first dyeing bath (more than 100℃)lead to serious decrease of the first bath dye's uptake, while the decrease is not serious when temperature of the first dyeing bath is low(no more than 100℃). The different dyeing sequences led to different uptakes and K/S.When the temperature of the first dyeing bath was closed to that of the second dyeing bath,Terylene fabric showed the dye's shade of the second dyeing bath,while showed the shade of the dye which dyed at high temperature when the temperature difference of two bath was large.The uptake of the dye used in the first bath is more than that of the same dye used in the second bath.The uptake of the single dye and the total uptakes of the mixed dyes were closed both in one bath process and two-bath process.The obtained fastness poperties of Terylene fabric dyed in supercritical carbon dioxide with both one bath dyeing process and two-bath dyeing process can be of good staining effect and meet the national standard.It is feasible and effective to toning dyeing of Terylene fabric with disperse dyes in supercritical carbon dioxide using one bath dyeing process or two-bath dyeing process.The suitable condition for the two-bath dyeing process is that the temperature of the first dyeing bath is no more than 100℃,pressure no more than 20 MPa.The uptakes and K/S can be different by changing the dyeing temperature,pressure or sequences.
