This article uses the PMAC card of controlling servo motor and the programmable ultrasonic card made by French Corporation SFT to inspect the copper-steel re-melt deposit welding automatically by using longitudinal Focusing probe immersed in water, improved an automatic ultrasonic C-scan system integrated in data acquisition and processing, ultrasonic non-destructive inspection and appraisal, precision instrument and numerical control technology, made the inspection of defects in the copper-steel re-melt welding automaticly and graphicly.The system software were based on program PROG which builded by VC, which included setting, probe control, data acquisition and management and analyse of results after scan program. The inspection software gathered defect echo signal by ultrasonic card , the data acquisition, displayed and storied by Visual C++ and processed the signal by calling the Matlab engine. The system will process the digital defect echo signal after the scan and operate the imagery processing and analysis to C scanning examination result, developed the functions of displaying two gates' information immediately, peak of ultrasonic wave, the partial scanning, optional range of analyzing wave, variety scan program and showing C-scan position.This interface of the software was friendly.The inspection system was based on position statement to reflect the information about defects on copper-steel re-melt deposit welding.The recognition software which was programmed based on advised 4 characteristics could identify the familiar defects by integrated with the defects type and formating in re-melt welding.The rotate precision of this inspectiong systerm was 0.25 degree and linear precision was 0.2 mm. To reduce the disturbance of pulse noise, the systerm used software filter and the difference between time of signal acquisition and defect identify.The information of defects in artificial and normal sample about position, shape and characters was proved successfully by the final inspection results.The inspection systerm could meet the using command.
