This article uses the programmable ultrasonic card made by French Corporation SFTto detect the copper-steel Re-melt Deposit Welding automatically by the longitudinalFocusing probe immersed in water, developed an automatic ultrasonic C-scan detectionsystem integrated in computer, data acquisition and processing, ultrasonic non-destructivedetection and appraisal, precision instrument and numerical control technology, realizedthe detection of defect in the copper-steel re-melt welding automatic and graphic. Thissystem composed by hardware equipment including mechanical scanning movementdevice, PMAC, computer, programmable ultrasonic card and software.The system software developed the baseline, the partial scanning, the TCG curve andsurface tracking function in view of the supersonic detection characteristic, gathers defectecho signal by ultrasonic card, realized the data acquisition, displayed and storied functionby Visual c++ and processed the signal by calling the Matlab engine.During the scanning time, the computer controls the probe and the work piece to movein synchronism by PMAC and completes the entire welding detection by C-scanautomatically. The system will process the digital defect echo signal after the scan andoperate the imagery processing and analysis to C scanning examination result.Finally, the system software identify the defect by integrated with the detect type andformation reason in re-melt welding, the time domain characteristic in defect signal, thecharacteristic quantity of geometry and acoustics in detect image.
