In view of the luster varying in the ketchup raw material,to separate the color qualified tomatoes and enhance the taste and quality, this paper has designed as a whole one kind of new electro-optical color selector: Tomato Color Selector.This topic for the purpose of aiming at the international advanced level as far as possible, profits from the international vanguard technology and the design mentality, realizes a high starting point the development for theoretical exploration work to the new tomato color selector . In the deep research tomato color selector's composition and work's principle, this article has analyzed carefully the characteristic of the controlled objects (tomato) ,then selected the appropriate control strategy for automatic control.In the present paper, the tomato color selector is designed by a linear array CCD for the separation of tomato light signal reception,by FPGA for control valve jet separation features,by DSP chips as the tomato grey level data acquisition and election-related computing and the necessary controls (a photoelectric detection system).This article had a more detailed design study to the video signal data acquisition process, data-processing algorithms, DSP LC549 the allocation of resources, the hardware and software design process, the the influence in tomato color selector performance factors, anti-jamming systems. Besides the author also proposed some follow-up design ideas for the future in-depth study for reference.This paper's ideas of innovation lie in:(one) Using a linear array CCD as optical system, its advantage is that high resolution, high integration, thereby greatly increasing the sorting rate;(two) Using the DSP chip as a data processing system, the operating speed is extremely quick to satisfy the real-time requirements.
