Titanium dioxide is a promising photocatalyst which can be used in many areas, such as utilization of solar energy and environment protection. In this work, different types of titanium dioxide nanocrystallites, including Fe-titanium dioxide, Co-titanium dioxide, S-titanium dioxide, C-titanium dioxide and Fe-Co-titanium dioxide, C-S-titanium dioxide, were prepared using the sol-gel technology. The microstructures and characteristic of the products were studied by the help of thermogravimetry(TG), differential thermoanalysis(DTA), X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) etc, and the reaction conditions were optimized.The influences of different preparative conditions, including kinds and quantities of depressor, temperatures of hydrolyzation, value of pH, on the properties of products were studied and discussed.In this work, metal-doped and nonmetal-doped titanium dioxide were studied, among which metal-doped nanocrystallites primarily included Fe-titanium dioxide, Co-titanium dioxide and Fe-Co-titanium dioxide; And among which nonmetal-doped nanocrystallites included S-titanium dioxide, C-titanium dioxide and C-S-titanium dioxide. We can analyse diameters and structures of grain by XRD, accordingly concluding the performances of nanocrystallites; At the same time, we can also analyse the characteristics of grain by SEM and element contents by EDX; In addition we can deduce nanocrystallites element compose by IR.
