Low temperature co-fired ceramics(LTCC) is a new broad-regarding technology, which comes down to many subjects. LTCC technology provides an all-right solution to miniaturization and handiness for devices and modules of electronic systems. Now LTCC is attached importance by domestic and overseas experts more and more. In this paper, we studied the effects of BZB(B2O3-ZnO-Bi2O3)glass and 3Z2H(3ZnO- 2H3BO3) glass additives on the microwave properties of BNT(BaO-Nd2O3-TiO2) ceramic materials. We adjusted the rate of BNT and glass and modulated the arts and crafts. As a result, we gets two kinds of LTCC materials.BNT(BaO-Nd2O3-TiO2) ceramic material is a excellent ceramic with good dielectric constant, but its sintering temperature is so high that we are not able to co-fire with low melting point metals such as Ag and Cu below 950℃. First, we optimized the BNT(BaO-Nd2O3-TiO2) ceramic via added the content of Bi2O3 so as to reduce the sintering temperature and improve the dielectric constant. Then we added the low soften point glass. Because of the interaction between the low softening point glass and high melting point ceramic, resuting in a good wetting between BZB and glass, the sintering temperature dropped. At the same time, we accommodated the accommodate of arts and crafts and met the requires of dielectric constant. We studied the effect of BZB(B2O3-ZnO-Bi2O3)glass addition on BNT and got some conclusions. The BNT ceramic which universal formula is Ba6-3x(Nd0.4Bi0.6)8+2xTi18O54 ( x=2/3 ) and the first sintering temperature is 1160℃,was added the 40wt% BZB glass and its sintering temperature reduced to 900℃.The samples were characterized excellent properties, namely about 76.1 forε, 4.6‰for tgδ, 30ppm/℃forαc and 1×1010 for R.We also studied the effect of 3Z2H(3ZnO-2H3BO3) glass addition on BNT and found that, the BNT ceramic which universal formula is Ba6-3x(Nd0.5Bi0.5)8+2xTi18O54 (x=2/3)and the first sintering temperature is 1100℃,was added the 10wt% 3Z2H glass and its sintering temperature reduced to 900℃. The samples were characterized excellent properties, namely about 52.7 forε, 3.5‰for tgδ, 150ppm/℃forαc and 1×1010 for R.The material we studied can be used to do LTCC capacitor and so on. It will have good social and economic benefit in the future.
