Macroporous sulfonic resin is a kind of important solid acid catalyst. It has lots of merits, such as no causticity and no environment pollution. Meanwhile, it possesses finer catalytic performance in etherification and alkylation process, and the catalytic performance is superior in alkylation with olefin and thiophenic sulfur compounds.The catalytic performance was discussed on alkylation process for thiophenic sulfur compounds with olefins over macroporous sulfonic resin: NKC-9,CT-175,D005-II and LSI-600 in the paper. The activities of four resins in interim reaction kettle were evaluated by means of altering the temperature, the ratio of gasoline and catalyst, reaction time and the composing of gasoline. The results indicated that the activities of resins increased along with the temperature rising while the temperature was below 90oC. NKC-9 was prior on alkylation process for thiophene with olefins in FCC gasoline. It also showed that the conversion of total sulfur over NKC-9 was more than 92.32% under the optimal conditions as follows: normal pressure, reaction temperature as 90oC, the volume ratio of FCC gasoline and catalyst as 15:1. The mercaptans in FCC gasoline nearly all transformed to products with high boiling point. The selectivity of NKC-9 and stability of four resins were also studied. It was found that thiophenic sulfur compounds were preferable with C4 and C5 olefins with NKC-9 using GC-MS analytical method. Otherwise, the reasons of lost-activity about four resins were discussed through XPS and chemic analytic methods. The results revealed that the alkalescent nitride was primary factor. Therefore the raw material (FCC gasoline) needed to be pretreatment in adsorption. The four resins had better stability property in alkylation reactions with adsorbed FCC gasoline.Further, it was studied that the translation velocity of thiophenic sulfur compounds in FCC gasoline. It was found that the order of is 2-CH3C4H3S>3-CH3C4H3S>3,4-DMC4H2S>2,3-DMC4H2S>2,4-DMC4H2S>C4H4S>2or3-EC4H3S>2,3,4-TMC4HS under the optimal conditions.
