| Considering the characteristics of large industrial oil tanks that are used for storing strategic oil, in order to prevent or reduce the sludge deposition and increase the utilization of the oil and tanks, this paper proposed a jet stirring system causing the liquid movement by a rotating jet agitator. It could prevent sludge formation effectively. The system was designed and its internal and external flow fields were simulated.Firstly, in view of sludge sedimentation laws, a jet stirring system used for preventing settlement was designed, and then the composition and working principle of the system were studied on. The important component axial impeller was designed with the method of singular point distribution, and the main calculation process was given.Secondly, the models of the jet agitator and the external flow fields were established. Then the jet movement was simulated, and the flow fields of different nozzle diameters, different jet velocities and different tank diameters were studied on, and the speed attenuation law was found. Based on these, the flow fields of rotation were simulated, and the effect of rotational speed was studied on.Thirdly, the Cartesian coordinates of airfoil blades were imported into the 3D software CAXA, and the solid model was completed. Then the internal flow field model of the jet agitator was established. Through the simulation of internal flow field, the pressure distribution and velocity distribution of impeller blades and nozzles at different rotating speeds and different flux were studied on.At last, the hydraulic performances of the jet-stirred agitator were forecasted.
