The supporting technologies of developing the Guantao formation must be studied deeply for the Yin-27 fault-block heavy oil reservoir with low reserves abundance, small oil zone, complex reservoir structure, and severe sand production.Based on the geologic characteristic and fluid property, the development mode was optimized from the aspect of integrated development design. The necessity, feasibility, and reasonable development mode of thermal production in Yin-27 fault-block heavy oil reservoir were discussed. At the same time, the effects of cold production and thermal production were contrasted and the results has guiding and referring value for the development of analogous formation.The twin surfactant was synthesized for the heavy oil. The mechanism of emulsification-viscosity break was studied and the emulsification effect for heavy oil was evaluated. Through the comparison of different surfactants, the synthesized surfactant possesses higher surface activity and better emulsification effect. So the good economic and social benefits were produced.
