With the high speed development in the car industry of our country, the rear axle of car as one of the main part of motion system has been developed in some degree. Many factories have produced the rear axle unit assemblage with the stronger load-carrying ability, higher technological content and better quality for sharing the fierce competition of rear axle market. Base on the characteristic and production lot of the rear axle, carbon-dioxide arc welding is widely used in the reality engineering of the rear axle welding at the present time. Carbon-dioxide arc welding is suited well for all-position weld, the welded samples have small deformation and high efficiency, which made it to be organized in production line. In addition, not only the resource of carbon dioxide is very abundant but also the price is low. So we adopt the carbon-dioxide arc welding in the welding equipment of whole straight welding of rear axle.The relay control system as a conventional control system is easy to be crossfire by environment, it has a low reliability and is difficult to repair, and the ability of its acclimatization with the variable process requirements is also low so that the reasons above put a break on its application, therefore, it's significant for producing the rear axle which have good quality and skillful technique that how to improve the stabilization of the production line of rear axle welding and the adaptability to the process requirements. The development of PLC is based on the conduct KA control and computer control. PLC gradually becomes a new type of equipment for industry control which cored of microprocessor and a combination of the automatic technique, computer technique and communication technique. PLC has many advantages such a higher ability for resisting interference, higher stability, smaller volume, better maintenance and the ability of on-line regulation. So PLC is very proper to be used in the on-line control in the production line for the carbon-dioxide arc welding of the rear axle of car.The article adopts PLC to control the string bead of the rear axle of car by the carbon-dioxide arc welding. It can improve the stabilization of the welding system and the adaptability to the welding procedure and then improve the efficiency. The article is based on designing the hardware compositions of carbon-dioxide arc welding of the rear axle of car the proper software which is made by allocating the input and output signal and I/O address makes the PLC control system work with stability and normal.
