At present the yield of modified transparent polypropylene(PP) is only next to that of polyethylene(PE) in the five widest applied thermoplastic synthetic resin. The growth rate and application domain of PP is quickly expanding. The development and application of unmodified PP was restricted because of its poor transparency and glossiness. Adding clarifying nucleating agent is the simplest, easiest and most economic method to improve the properties of PP. The organic phosphate-typed nucleating agent has won more and more attention by its special high temperature resistance.The synthesis of the organic phosphate-typed nucleating agent NA-11 and NA-21 was researched thoroughly in this thesis. The synthetic techniques of intermediates were optimized by means of orthogonal experiment and the optimum technological conditions of intermediates were determined. The yield of intermediate 2,2′-methylene bis(4,6-di-tert-butyl phenol) is 98.02 % in its optimum reaction condition, and that of intermediate 2,2′-methylene bis(4,6-di-tert-butyl phenyl) phosphoric ester is 91.45 %. The synthesis condition of NA-11 was studied with 2,2′-methylene bis(4,6-di-tert-butyl phenyl) phosphoric ester as raw material, water and methanol as solvent respectively. Predigested synthesis method of NA-11 was studied with 2,2′-methylene bis(4,6-di-tert-butyl phenol) as raw material, and the overall yield of the product was 90.49 % based on 2,4-bis-tert-butyl phenol. With acetone as solvent and NA-11 or 2,2′-methylene bis(4,6-di-tert-butyl phenol) phosphoric ester as raw material the synthesis condition of NA-21 was studied, predigested synthesis method of NA-21 was studied with 2,2′-methylene bis(4,6-di-tert-butyl phenyl) as raw material, and the overall yield of the product was 88.25 % based on 2,4-bis-tert-butyl phenol.In the synthesis reaction of 2,2′-methylene bis(4,6-di-tert- butyl phenol) phosphoric ester, the product is adhered to the reactor's inner wall severely. In order to solve the problem, a new washing method was adopted. the product was washed in the reaction flask and the water layer was sucked out from the bottom of the oil layer which can reduced the loss of the intermediate and then raised the yield of the product.The intermediate and organic phosphate nucleating agents were characterized and evaluated, The haze of T30S PP is reduced from 36.3% to 24.5% and 24.6% respectively while the addition of NA-11 and NA-21 is 0.1wt%. The nucleating capability of NA-11 and NA-21 is quite obviously.
