Since SZ development area has stepped into later production period with high water cut and its recoverable reserves increased gradually decline year by year, it is very urgent to search for new increased reserves to mitigate the unbalance between production and the reserves. Being characterized as one of alternative potential resources, in some sense, SL formations are rich in oil and gas collection. The feasibility study on water injection in SL formations is conducted to determine reserve potential and reasonable development process, which has great significance on searching for new recoverable reserves in Daqing Oilfield.The study commenced in January of 2003 and has been experiencing for 5 years, systematically performing the research on SL formation properties. The clay stabilized agent, suitable for SL formations, is selected and the reasonable application way, injection process and injection concentration are also ascertained respectively. Meanwhile, the study concerning development discipline and ideal wellspace for water flooding in SL formations is done; and the development potential of SL formations is evaluated. The laboratory study and field test show that water injection can be successful in SL formations on the premise of formation well preserved.
