Petroleum enterprise not only produces energy, but also consumes energy. Energy consumption accounts for quite a high proportion in enterprise cost. Energy consumption cost is the controllable part of the enterprise cost, so to reduce the energy consumption of the unit product is an important factor of controlling production cost whether effectively or not. Energy conservation is beneficial to reducing the production cost, optimizing the cost structure of the enterprise, thus improving enterprise's competition ability in the market economy.Energy system optimization technology is one of the ten national key energy conservation engineering. It solves the problem of energy system's consumption with the theories of system engineering and optimization method, usually about the quantitative study of energy system's integral optimization. Its main characteristic is to make the whole energy system as an optimization object, reducing energy consumption and raising economic performance as the target, and to realize energy consumption optimization of the whole system. Its main method includes pinch point technique analysis method,"three-link"optimization method,"three-box"energy consumption analysis method, mathematical modeling method and so on.Petrochemical production process optimization is mostly closely related to its economic performance and social performance. The production consumption of unit quality can reflect fully each kind of energy source's consumption condition of the system. Applying mathematical simulation method and making the minimum unit consumption as the optimization target, each kind of material consumption of the system from the whole can be optimized to obtain the optimum operation parameters and reach the target of reducing cost and optimizing operation. Using"three-link"method to do energy comprehensive analysis with the common engineering device, can clearly show the energy consumption situation and find the weak link of energy consumption. Optimizing the system from details can not only satisfy the need of process production, but also obtain the ideal economic results.The system optimization as a whole with mathematical simulation method and the details optimization with"three-link"method can make the chemical factory get better energy conservation benefit, and also can establish optimization demonstration area of system energy consumption for the whole factory to promote energy system optimization technology in refinery enterprise of CNPC. In the end, the improvement schemes are provided for the pipe network insulation system, steam heat transfer system and residual heat recovery system. Thus the theory guiding for further energy conservation and optimization can be obtained.
