Mechanical press is one of forging equipments widely used in manufacturing field,with the advantages of high production efficiency,less raw material consumption and less pollution in working environment,and it has been applied in various industries.In recent years,more and more cooperations between domestic and foreign press manufactures have been carriedout,such as the ones with American Wilson,Japanese Komatsu and German Schuler.Such cooperations have had some achievements and improved the design and manufacturing level of mechanical pressesin our country and some product lines have reached the world advanced level.However,the domestic press companies right now are still apply the Graphical Method on product design,especially on the design of press linkage drive system,which efficiency is very low,and it has become the bottleneck issue that restraints the development of press design.Based on the analysis of the specifications and the structure of the multi-linkage press,it designs the main drive system in this paper.Based on the motion curve of multi-linkage press required during process flow,it performs kinematics and statics analysis on the multi-linkage press,proposes the optimized method for the design on linkage system of multi-linkage press,and optimized specifications of linkage system by computer,to ensure that slide has the best motion curve complying with the process requirements.It defines the mechanism of gear transmission system,by comparing analysis on main transmission gear meshing system,main gear system,and overall gear transmission structure.It defines the structure of wet clutch by comparing performance of wet clutch and of dry one.It completes the designs of the core assemblies,such as top crossrail,V shap belt and balancer of main trasnmissionIt deduces the general kinematical equation of linkage drive system of six bar linkage press and discusses the solution to the angles of press linkage under different scenarios,by performing kinematical analysis on displacement,velocity and acceleration of six bar linkage press.It concludes the loading status of each bar in the linkage drive system,by performing static force analysis on six-bar linkage press.With the advantages of fully integrating two optimization methods,Complex Method and Penalty Function Methods,it proposes the optimazation method and specific process for multi-linkage drive system of mechanical press,and provides the optimized Target Function and its constraints,under two working scenarios of six-bar linkage press,automation line and general application.Optimization software for linkage drive system of multi-linkage press is developed based on Matlab software and it is capable of optimization of linkage drive system under both non-interference and interference conditions,output of optimized data,drawing of motion curve and force curve.The effectiveness and reliability of such optimization method on linkage drive system proposed in this paper has been testified by manufactured products.
